Project Ace
A downloadable game for Windows
How interesting and fun can we make a game experience mainly based on movement mechanics? That is the concept I aimed to explore with Project Ace, which is heavily inspired by games like Titanfall, wherein characters can wallrun, slide and exploit momentum to traverse levels.
Main Takeaways:
This was my first 3D project in Unity and it allowed me to deepen my knowledge of movement mechanics, simulated physics and momentum. It also made me realize that, despite the importance of art assets and special effects, games shine when their core mechanics have solid foundations.
Project Ace was developed in 2 weeks, within the scope of a recruitment activity for Game Dev Técnico (GDT), a university association focused on developing impactful games through jams and internal projects.
